When Is My MOT Due?

To check if your electric or hybrid vehicle has a valid MOT and find out when your next test is due, visit the DVSA website and enter your vehicle registration number. Alternatively, you can refer to your current MOT certificate, which will display the expiry date.

You can book your MOT test at any time before it expires. However, to preserve your existing renewal date, the test must be carried out up to one month (minus a day) before your current MOT expires. For example, if your MOT expires on 27th June, the earliest date you can take the test and retain the same renewal date for the following year is 28th May.

EV and Hybrid Free MOT Reminders

It’s easy to lose track of when your MOT test is due, but ensuring it stays up to date is crucial. Driving without a valid MOT certificate could lead to a £2,500 fine and may even invalidate your car insurance.

To help you stay on top of your renewal, we offer an MOT reminder service for electric and hybrid vehicles. Simply enter your details below, and we’ll send you email or text reminders ahead of your next test.
